Description

Flooring Adhesive MS Polymer AS-4030

Flooring Adhesive MS Polymer Alseal AS-4030
Flooring Adhesive MS Polymer AS-4030 is an environmentally friendly timber flooring adhesive. MS polymers are flexible moisture-curing adhesives. It is an advanced technology glue. Adhesives of these technologies solve common problems associated with traditional old-school adhesives.
The adhesive provides a strong and elastic bond to wood floors and wall finishes. It is waterproof and not exposed to moisture or water after curing. Its elasticity allows the wood floor to expand and contract without breaking adhesion.
The viscosity of the glue allows you to apply it with a trowel, without straining your hands. Its anti-settling formula allows the notched trowel ridges to hold. Flooring adhesive AS-4030 does not contain water and solvents. This feature minimizes the possibility of changing the size of the wood. The product is harmless. The glue contains no harmful substances such as isocyanate and solvents.

Preparations
- The subfloor must be solid and structurally sound, flat, smooth, clean, and dry.
- Ensure the surface to which the adhesive is to be applied is free of dust, dirt, grease, wax, peeled paint, oil, sealants of ANY type, curing agents, bond breakers, asphalt residues, liquid adhesive removers, strippers, chemicals, or any other foreign substances that may potentially affect adhesion.
- The subfloor must be flat to 3 mm under a 3-meter straight edge. There can increase in the risk of cavities under the wooden flooring.
- Any existing coating or adhesives must be completely removed. Mechanical treatment is acceptable to achieve acceptable subfloor conditions for installation. Methods are shot blasting, grinding, or sanding.
Recommendations
-
Verify that the moisture content of the slab is below 4% by impedance meter (e.g. Tramex). Floor manufacturers may also have other requirements for assessing panel moisture. Including assessing internal panel moisture per ASTM F2170.
-
The possible moisture migration from sub-floors can affect wood swelling or cupping. The ground floor is often uncertain about the current or future moisture content of the slab. Should have Alseal AS-2507 Epoxy Moisture Barrier applied to the slab.
- Installing a wooden floor on a heated sub-floor can be done after 24 hours switch off of heating. It prevents premature curing of the adhesive.
-
The best environmental conditions for the installation process. The air temperature: 10°C – 35°C, relative humidity: 40% – 75%. Subject to the requirements specified by the wood flooring manufacturer.
- Do not install if the walls and ceilings of the area are not dry. The high moisture of the environment. Mostly it is after plastering, painting, etc.
Usage instructions Flooring Adhesive MS Polymer AS-4030
Packs in Pail:
1. Remove the lid and cut open the foil liner. The floorboards have to place into the adhesive within 30 mins and this is often 3 to 4 rows of board rows at one time.
2. Spread the adhesive with the proper notched trowel, and apply it on the subfloor. Avoid adhesive pools and excessive adhesive thickness by passing the trowel through the adhesive at a 45-degree angle.
3. Place the wood in the adhesive within working time. Position it and press down or tamp down with a rubber hammer to ensure good contact. Wood may move at first. To be sure to secure the initial row to limit movement and holding patterns.
4. At least 80% of adhesive contact assures proper bonding of the flooring.
5. Please, restrict foot traffic for 12-16 hours. Recommended 24-hour break before sanding and coating applying.
Sausage sachet:
1. Place the sausage sachet in a suitable application gun and snip off the end. Cut the tip off the nozzle to suit the application.
2. Apply the adhesive with appropriate force and speed.
3. Make sure that the wood is set on the substrate within the working time of the adhesive.
Note: In relying on mechanical fixing and use of beads of adhesive in applications to plywood, OSB, particleboard, joists, or battens, follow the wood flooring manufacturer’s guidelines for layout, design, and any special recommendations for installation.
